It was a simple primary school with a thatched roof set amid the backdrop of a hamlet in Bengal. The bright, warm morning sun had a mild golden light. The coconut trees stood tall with their reflection on the quiet pond. After finishing her household chores, little Putul caught hold her bag that hung precariously on her back and rushed to school. She was dressed in a pale brown school uniform with thick braid touching her waist. On seeing her, the class teacher, Saswati Madam asked her, “ Do you know what’s so special about today”? The little girl replied without batting an eyelid, “ Today is Women’s Day Maam”. Being satisfied with her, the teacher looked at her with doleful eyes and gifted her a chocolate. But while settling on her narrow bench, The ever inquisitive Putul asked with her large pearly eyes , “ But maam why don’t we celebrate women’s day every day”
We at Acropolis Mall, also agree with little Putul. Acropolis mall deeply believes that every day is women’s day. At Acropolis Mall, all women employees work together with their men counterparts and are treated equally with respect. To us all women are heroes in their own rights, however we have chosen one great woman like Helen Keller to feature here who turned her life into a celebration and inspired others.
Helen Keller : Helen Adams Keller was an American author, disability rights advocate, political activist and lecturer. She lost her sight and hearing after a bout of illness at the age of nineteen months. However Helen fought all odds with her indomitable spirit and became the first deaf blind person to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree. Keller was a prolific author and wrote on topics ranging from animals to Mahatma Gandhi. An embodiment of optimism and hope,, Helen had triumphed over the triple afflictions of blindness, dumbness and deafness. She is an inspiring figure in our life. Keller inspired us with her saying, “The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched – they must be felt with the heart. “
There are huge lists of great women leaders like Helen Keller who inspire millions of people in the world. We at Acropolis Mall also salute millions of unsung and unheard women who rise above others by the sheer dint of hard work, courage and positive approach to life. They proved themselves no less than their male counterparts.
However, even in 21st century, every day, women around the world experience less opportunity than men in education and employment. While many countries recognize the need for gender equality and women’s empowerment, we need to change our perspective towards the women and recognize them as the embodiment of Shakti.
This year, at Acropolis Mall we invoke the power of creativity in you.. In line with the international women’s day campaign Choose to Challenge, at Acropolis Mall we invite you, to showcase your creativity on Instagram by participating in “ women’s day reel contest” .
The instagram reel contest on women’s week from 4th March to 12thMarch enables all of you to portray yourself as a woman and the Acropolis Mall with a dash of innovation.
All you need to do is to make a creative reel of 30 sec duration on how you want to pamper yourself and make the women in your life feel special on the women’s day at Acropolis Mall. You can include your mother, sister, wife, girlfriend, female friends in the reel. Reel should start with your entrance at Acropolis Mall showing any of the entrance gate along with the logo of Acropolis Mall. You can use any props suitable with the women’s day theme. You may include any song behind the reel after the shooting of the videos for the reels, you may edit in any app or software as per your convenience.
The reels should focus few women brands and common women and Acropolis Mall. 1. Chili’s. 2. New U are two brands at Acropolis Mall you must have to display on your instagram reel video. There are exciting prizes and recognition for the winners that matters a lot.
